Make room for another perspective
Imagine your Hong Kong LP meetings are already in the diary. Before booking the flight home, there is another question: could one or two days in Shenzhen give you a perspective you would not get from another meeting room?
Not every investor needs another company presentation. You might want to understand a product category, exchange perspectives with local people, or simply experience the culture around the businesses you hear about.
Start with your interests, not a list of logos.
Company visits and cultural exchange
A useful day might connect a relevant company visit with public retail spaces, a neighbourhood, a meal and time to compare observations. A second day can allow a different perspective or a less compressed pace. The route depends on your dates, what is already arranged and which hosts agree to receive you.
Cultural exchange is a valid reason to come. You do not need to turn every conversation into an investment thesis.
Futurebound Private builds privately commissioned Shenzhen extensions for visiting VC partners and their teams. Eric X.D. Tan personally hosts the programme, bringing experience across Riot Games, Sony Music Entertainment and Electronic Arts, a Western business lens, and English, Cantonese and Mandarin support.
Before designing the day, we establish what you want to explore, who is coming, what your current plans cover and whether a paid private programme fits. Then we scope the company requests and city experience around that brief.
Discuss your Shenzhen extension
Company visits require individual host approval and availability. Senior meetings are not assumed. Transport, dining and other additions are scoped separately. This is cultural and business context, not investment advice or technical due diligence.
What would you like to understand, experience or exchange beyond the meeting room?
